It’s no secret I am a HUGE fan of Lisa M. Stasse’s The Forsaken. (If you missed my review, you can take a break for a second to read it. All done? Ok, great! Keep reading this post. And hope you enjoyed the review.) I have been checking with my contact from Simon & Schuster to find out Lisa’s touring schedule to see if she might be coming to Salt Lake City any time soon, and then I had also tweeted at Lisa to find out if she knew if she’d be coming here as well. All I know right now is that Lisa will be touring sometime in September, and when I have the tour dates I’ll let you all know.
Anyway, I just so happened to be in Los Angeles this week, which is where Lisa and her family live. I love to go to author signings and I’ve got quite the growing collection of signed books, so I thought I would see if I could somehow meet up with Lisa while I was in Los Angeles so she could sign my book. Seriously, I could not believe my eyes when I saw that she was willing to get together so I could get my book signed. We figured out a time once I knew my schedule, and had a delicious breakfast and coffee at Gordon Ramsay at the London West Hollywood. What’s even cooler is that I also got to spend some time with Lisa’s incredibly adorable, wonderfully sweet daughter, Imogen. She’s two years younger than my daughter, but I think they’d get along great!
Of course we talked about my love for The Forsaken, but we also talked about other common interests, like Grey’s Anatomy and LOST. If you’ve read The Forsaken and you happen to be a fan of LOST, you’ve probably noticed one or two similarities to the show, right? I am so incredibly grateful to Lisa for taking some time out of her day to have breakfast with me, and that I got the chance to know her better. I love chatting with her on Facebook and on Twitter, but nothing can ever beat sitting down with an incredibly awesome person face to face.
If Lisa just so happens to be touring near you, I hope you’ll go out and meet her! We’re crossing our fingers that Lisa will eventually make it out to Salt Lake City!
